Its been a very hectic weekend starting from Thu nite. Left Senawang home for Bintong late to avoid the balik kampung crowd. To our surprise the traffic was still heavy for southbound travellers. By the time we reached kampung, most of the guys were ready to sleep. This time round, the ladies ousted the guys for the airy semi-open lodging...so the guys had to bunk inside on the warm nite. Obviously the KDK fan had a hard time working round the clock.
Raya Haji day was a simple affair. Being a Friday nothing much could be done in view of the Friday prayers later at noon. Anyway after Friday prayers the guys (obviously) went to Teratak Ariff for Raya lunch. Yummy! We had mee curry, lemang (of course) and other goodies. Met the Grik group MakSu Liza & PakSu Nong and family there...not forgetting MakCik...the ever faithfull and hardworking babysitter.
I only managed to taste the nasi minyak (or was it briyani?) prepared at home late in the day...
Later in the nite, we had to shoot off to Rantau...obligation. As usual lemang and rendang is the order of the day...
Found out a friend who married a Linggi gal was around...so made a trip to Rantau town to meet up with him. Over teh tarik and mi goreng, he mentioned another friend; a Linggi local whom I haven't met since Cardiff days.
That was way back in 1983...man thats 23 years ago!! So later we headed for his home in Linggi. Good to see old friends after all these years. We have all grown sideways in our own ways.
Back at Belangkan, the preparation for Feb 11-12-13 wedding weekend of sis-in-law is going on fine. The bunga telur is almost complete if not for the shortage of some items...will have to get the stuff soon to complete the bunga telur.
Sunday (23Jan) was a hectic day...its painting time. Bought same paint from a hardware store in Mambau together with the rollers, brushes etc. Its another hot hot day...not so encouraging start. Anyway managed to finish quite a bit of the wall...even mother-in-law & nephews had a hand in it.
Tomorrow (Mon 24Jan) another working day...and then another break for us in Seremban for Thaipusam hols...employees love it, employers don't!
