About Road Manners...again

Still on the subject of road manners from my previous blog on the same subject...

This time I want to put you in the driver's seat. Imagine driving along a main road at the allowable speed limit (90kph for normal trunk road) and you approach a motorcyclist in front. What do you do?

Scenario 1:
You look in your rear view mirror; line clear. You look in front of the motorcyclist and see a long queue of cars being held back by another motorcyclist. After much consideration, you decide to stay behind the motorcycle and let the oncoming traffic clear before deciding your next course of action...and the oncoming traffic never seem to clear for next 5 km!!
Is the motorcyclist to be blamed? He has his rights to use the road you know. After all he is also pays his road tax diligently without fail...and his bike is his only affordable mode of transport to take him to work, to ferry his kids to and from school. That is also his transport to go to surau/ mosque, kenduri etc etc. You figure it out...
Scenario 2:
Similar to scenario 1 but with a slight twist...the road ahead of the motorcyclist is clear but there is a bend in front and you only see a few meters of around the bend. Do you overtake or keep following the slow motorcyclist? Are you sure that there is no oncoming vehicle around that corner? Tough decision istn't it?
These are just a few of the things you have to face when you get behind the wheels. There is just so many obstacles you have to face, some tough decisions to make. For some, they would go for it even though it is a 50-50 chance ahead. They decide based on their self-proclaimed expertise after being on the road for many years and for the power their vehicle has (after modification/ alteration of the engine).
But then again...are the other users as good (expert?) as they are? Is the road condition okay for doing such speed?
Right ahead there could be another bozo who has the same thinking and attitude...
You decide the end of this episode...
